About us

Mycro Sportsgear is the leading supplier of quality & stylish helmets, hurleys and GAA accessories.
Founded in 1986, Mycro design products by players for players, using the latest technologies on the market to enable maximum product performance, but also safety. Our flagship product, the Mycro helmet is the lightest, safest and most comfortable helmet on the market, and was the first helmet to pass IS355 safety standards.

Safety

A core value at Mycro is safety. While comfort and style are essential, they will never come at the expense of safety. We therefore made it our mission to create the lightest, most comfortable but also the safest helmet.

In 2006 the National Safety Authority of Ireland (NSAI) introduced new safety standards for helmets, IS:355.

Mycro was the first helmet manufacturer to meet this safety standard, and are still one of the only suppliers to meet this standard across all of our helmet range.

A player not wearing an IS:355 approved helmet is no longer covered under the GAA Injury Benefit Fund and is also at an increased risk of injury.
